Mindfulness Meditation Tuesday! - Heart and Mind

Body scan is another type of meditation also part of the Mindfulness practice. It helps to connect mind and body. Why’s that even important?! The connection is your path to being present in the moment.  You will be more able to focus on issues or situations at hand and process a response vs. react and manage your stress by being tuned into you. When you connect mind and body it’s amazing how your perspective and operating system transform.

A micro practice…how can you take this into your day-to-day? If you don’t have time for a full body scan try mini practices…

  1. Remind Me!

    • Set a reminder on your phone, maybe twice a day to start, and take a second to check in…what do you feel, is your jaw clenched? Are your shoulders up to your ears? Take note and then just breathe into the places that are holding onto something.

OR

  1. Try the STOP method

    • Stop.

    • Take a Breath.

    • Observe.

    • Proceed.
